David Gill held his nerve and the rest is history – we can’t keep recycling managers when there is a dip in results- one wonders what would have happened if David Moyes had been given time – he won the Community Shield , reached the champions league quarter final and the league cup semi final and finished 7th in his only full season but that was a drop off from Champions and so when his next season started poorly he gets sacked even though they went on to qualify for the Champions league .
